Gov. Kathy Hochul will not appeal to Mayor Eric Adams to step down, but a familiar source told the Post.
Hochul is planning to write ethics laws aimed at providing the state with more guardrails to the mayor and senior city officials, NY1 first reported.

Hochul has stopped seeking Adams' resignation, but has not ruled out the mayor, sources said.
However, it is unclear how Hochul's latest move will be carried in the state legislature.
Both state senators and congressional leaders were left unguarded by news of Hochul's plans. Sources say they were not looped by the governor's office.
This is a developing story. Please check for updates.
