Tom Homan Faces Heckler at Turning Point USA Summit
During a speech at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit, Thomas Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), encountered a disruption from a protester who shouted, “Are you an MS-13 member?” The remark referenced the notorious gang, which has been classified as a foreign terrorist organization by the Trump administration.
This interruption drew boos from the audience, who were largely conservative, as the heckler held up a mock wanted poster featuring Homan’s image.
In response, Homan expressed his frustration about the disrespect towards ICE agents, emphasizing that his role is about safety and service. “I’m tired of it for the ice men and women. I deserve your respect,” he asserted. He continued with, “Do you want some? Get some.”
“They’re the highest 1% this country has. And Tom Homan is not going anywhere. Tom Homan is not silent,” he insisted.
As security escorted individuals out for their disruptive behavior, Homan was met with chants of “USA! USA!” from the crowd.
Homan didn’t hold back, saying, “This guy doesn’t know what it’s like to serve this country. He doesn’t have the courage to be an ICE officer or work as a border patrol agent.” His comments veered towards personal insults, with Homan adding, “This guy lives in his mother’s basement. What surprises me is that he doesn’t have purple hair and a nose ring. He comes out of here and becomes a loser.”
Homan’s address followed recent riots in Los Angeles triggered by President Trump’s aggressive deportation policies. He concluded his speech by praising Trump’s focus on border security and addressing illegal immigration.
“Under his leadership, we have achieved the safest border in the country’s history. We did that in seven weeks. Trump did what others couldn’t accomplish in four years,” Homan stated.
