Home in LA untouched by 2025 wildfires available for $34K monthly rental

Singer-songwriter and real estate investor Betty Moon has put her Pacific Palisades property up for rent at $34,000 a month. Situated at 344 Arno Way, it’s just 300 feet from the ocean.

Interestingly, this home managed to survive the wildfires last year that ravaged its surroundings, affecting many historic properties, including that of Michael Richards, known for his role as Kramer on “Seinfeld.”

Richards unfortunately lost a lot, including a treasure trove of “Seinfeld” memorabilia, like signed scripts and rare books. He is currently in the process of rebuilding his place using the original 1929 blueprints crafted by Alfonzo Bell, a multifaceted individual recognized as a developer, oil tycoon, Olympic tennis medalist, and founder of Bel Air.

“My neighbor Michael Richards must be wondering how my house ended up being one of the few remaining,” Moon shared in a recent interview. She recalls driving to the area six weeks after the fires, despite access being restricted. When she finally saw her intact home, she admitted, “My partner Jeff and I were completely shocked.”

This Mid-Century Modern house was built in 1965 and features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It spans 4,028 square feet and can be rented furnished or unfurnished. Some notable design elements include hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, two fireplaces, and a well-appointed chef’s kitchen, complete with a wine refrigerator and closet.

It also houses a study, a sunken living room that opens onto a terrace, and a primary suite boasting a spa-like bath with a stone soaking tub.

Outside, there’s a lovely pool and spa, complemented by lush landscaping and a fire-resistant slate roof. The backyard is equipped with an outdoor theater, gym, and a deck with a BBQ island perfect for ocean-view dining.

The home features a lower level with an additional bedroom and bathroom, which could function as a home office suite. Plus, it includes a three-car gated garage equipped with a charging station and a security system.

Located in an upscale area above the Bel Air Bay Club, the resilience of this home during the January 2025 wildfires is noteworthy.

While many homes around Moon’s burned down, quite a few, like Richards’, are undergoing reconstruction. Moon reflected, “Houses built like tanks were burnt down. Why was my house still standing? Others are now rebuilding, including a modern farmhouse just across the street. It feels like an exciting new beginning.”

“Everything is very exciting for the future of the smart city we have named Paribu,” she added, while mentioning her upcoming EP titled “strangely beautiful,” set for release on April 17th. “It encapsulates a lot of emotions from these past few years. What’s strikingly beautiful amid all this change is the collective excitement and determination to rebuild, evident in all the signs saying ‘Palisades Strong.’

Even so, Moon wrestles with feelings of guilt, acknowledging that while her home was “severely damaged,” it wasn’t a total loss and could indeed be repaired. “Most of the updates involved redoing the interior,” she mentioned.

Moon is personally handling the rental listing. The rent covers gardening, pool, and house maintenance, while tenants are responsible for utility costs.

In addition to this property, Moon owns another house on Wighton Drive in Los Angeles that formerly belonged to Cary Grant, as well as a Malibu residence titled “Magical Vacation,” which she has rented to celebrities like the late Matthew Perry, rapper Cardi B, and actress Taraji P. Henson.
