A Michigan homeowner armed with a crossbow fired an arrow at a suspected intruder, successfully stopping a riot early Tuesday morning.
Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 4500 block of Huron Avenue in Frenchtown Township just after 12:30 a.m. for a report of a home invasion in progress. WLNS-TV reported. The municipality is located approximately 30 minutes southwest of Detroit.

According to the department, authorities were notified and it was discovered that two people had broken into a home occupied by two residents.
According to WLNS, one of the residents shot one of the intruders with an arrow, after which the other intruder fled.
The intruder, a 32-year-old man, was taken to hospital for surgery after the arrow was removed, police said, adding that he remains in police custody until he recovers.
Police arrested the other intruder, a 41-year-old man, shortly after the incident and was being held at the Monroe County Jail, WLNS reported.
Police will not release the identities of the men until they are arrested, the department said.
The sheriff's office said the incident was not a random act and appears to have stemmed from a prior altercation between the parties, according to WLNS.
