Honduran illegal immigrant charged in alleged DUI crash that killed Arkansas children’s respiratory therapist

A 30-year-old man from Honduras who was in the United States illegally has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that killed an Arkansas woman earlier this month.

Maynor Yair Salt Herrera was arrested by Arkansas State Police on Sept. 9 in connection with a crash that occurred the previous morning. State police said Salt Herrera was driving a 2008 Ford F150 when he crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a 2016 Honda CRV, killing Jennifer Ann Morton, 48, of Little Rock.

Police spotted Salt-Herrera leaving the scene. He was taken to a hospital to be examined for his injuries and then transported to the Pulaski County Jail.

The suspect is charged with negligence resulting in death, assault, driving while intoxicated, violation of the weapons ban, reckless driving, driving without a license, failure to stop after a fatal accident and traffic violations.
