Hot air balloon crashes into power lines, sparks fire

Dramatic video shows how a hot air balloon suddenly collided with power lines as it attempted to land in Minnesota on Wednesday night, with all three people on board miraculously escaping with only “very minor” injuries. It’s reflected.

The scare unfolded just before 7 p.m. as the balloon was about to land in a field off Highway 63 in Rochester, southeast of Minneapolis, local police said.

Video of the ordeal shows the ship inching closer to the highway before a gust of wind pushes it into power lines, causing an electrical explosion.

The basket separated from the balloon and plummeted approximately 20 to 30 feet to the ground, police said.

Despite the gruesome footage, the occupants surprisingly walked away unharmed, with only two occupants suffering “very minor injuries,” police said.

The top of the balloon was seen drifting away, but was later recovered several miles away.
