House balance of power still undecided a week after Election Day, with Republicans needing 4 more seats

A week after Election Day, control of the House of Representatives remains up in the air as votes continue to be counted in 17 Lok Sabha elections.

Republican Donald Trump will be re-elected as president, giving Republicans a majority in the Senate. But House Speaker Mike Johnson is still waiting to see if he can keep his job, and President-elect Trump will have full control of the government for Republicans to enact their own policies for the next two years (before the presidential election). Democratic Party incumbent Congresswoman Mary Sattler Peltola He is running behind Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich in a close race in Alaska's large congressional district.

As of Tuesday morning, Mr. Begich had 49.5% of the vote and Mr. Peltola had 45.5%, giving him a four-point lead. The number of votes was 125,222 to 115,089, or about 80% of the votes counted.

6th Congressional District

The race in Arizona's 6th Congressional District is a close one, with the Republican candidate holding a narrow lead.

Republican Rep. Juan Siscomani, in his first term, narrowly leads former Democratic state Rep. Kirsten Engel with 49.5% to 48.2% of the vote as of Tuesday morning. The number of votes was 189,692 to 184,787, for a vote count rate of 86%.

California

9th Congressional District

Democratic incumbent Josh Harder leads Republican challenger Kevin Lincoln by less than 3 points.

As of Tuesday, Harder's lead had widened to 7,124 votes, with about 74% of the vote in the district.

13th Congressional District

Republican Rep. John Duarte leads former Democratic state Rep. Adam Gray in California's 13th Congressional District, but the close race has not yet been called as of Tuesday. .

Approximately 62% of the votes were counted, with Duarte leading 51.1% to 48.9%. The pair are separated by just under 3,000 votes.

21st Congressional District

As of Tuesday morning, incumbent Democratic Rep. John Costa leads Republican challenger Michael Maher 50.5% to 49.5%.

The vote count so far has been 66%, giving Costa a lead of just over 1,000 votes.

22nd Congressional District

As of Tuesday, Republican incumbent Rep. David Barado leads Democratic challenger Rudy Salas with 53.6% to 46.6% of the vote. With 77% of votes counted, Mr. Balad maintains a lead of just under 10,000 votes.

27th Congressional District

As of Monday morning, incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Garcia led Democratic challenger George Whitesides by about 2 points.

With 83% of votes counted, Whiteside's lead is just under 7,000 votes.

41st Congressional District

Incumbent Republican Rep. Ken Calvert holds a 51.3% to 48.7% lead over Democratic challenger Will Rollins. As of Tuesday, about 75% of the votes had been counted, giving Calvert a lead of about 7,500 votes.

45th Congressional District

Incumbent Republican Congresswoman Michelle Steel leads Democratic challenger Derek Tran with 50.7% of the vote as of Tuesday. With just over 83% of votes counted, Mr. Steele's lead had shrunk to 3,908 votes.

47th Congressional District

The race to succeed the retiring Democratic Party Congresswoman Katie Porter California's 47th Congressional District is also very thin.

Republican Scott Baugh, a former state representative, and Democratic state Sen. Dave Minn are vying for the open seat, with Minn holding a roughly 1% lead.

The vote count was nearly 82%, and Min's lead was just over 3,000 votes.

49th Congressional District

As of Tuesday morning, Democratic incumbent Rep. Mike Levin held a 4-point lead over Republican challenger Matt Gunderson.

With 82% of votes counted, Levin has a lead of about 14,000 votes.

Incumbent Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks has a lead of less than 1% over challenger Christina Bohannan, with 99% of votes counted. Miller-Meeks' lead is just under 1,000 votes.

2nd Congressional District

As of Tuesday, Democratic incumbent Jared Golden held a narrow lead over Republican challenger Austin Theriault.

With 98% of votes counted, Golden's lead is less than 800 votes.

With 87% of votes counted Monday, incumbent Republican Rep. Lori Chavez Delemer is trailing Democratic challenger Janelle Bynum by nearly 3 points.

Bynum's lead is just over 10,000 votes.

washington

4th Congressional District

Incumbent Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse holds a roughly 5-point lead over the front-runner, fellow Republican Jerrod Sessler, with 86% of the vote counted.

As of Tuesday morning, Newhouse's lead was just over 13,000 votes.
