House Committees Issue Subpoena to ActBlue CEO

ActBlue CEO Subpoenaed Amid Investigations

Regina Wallace-Jones, the CEO of ActBlue, has been summoned for testimony. This comes from House Judiciary Committee leaders Jim Jordan, Brian Steele, and James Kommer, with subpoenas issued regarding the ongoing investigations into ActBlue.

According to a press release from the committee, “ActBlue initially provided the documents voluntarily, but then halted cooperation. As a result, the Judiciary Committee is forced to use a compulsory process to obtain the necessary materials.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), alongside fellow chairmen Brian Steele (R-WI) and James Kommer (KY-01), announced the issuance of subpoenas related to fundraising platforms.

“With allegations suggesting that the online fundraising platform has accepted fraudulent contributions from both domestic and foreign sources, the committee is working to establish potential legislative reforms. On April 2, 2025, the committee requested relevant documents and communications concerning internal misunderstandings and contacts.”

“Though ActBlue initially cooperated and provided documents, they later ceased such cooperation. Therefore, the Judiciary Committee must resort to a compulsory process to obtain the requested information.”

ActBlue has characterized the subpoena as “political theatre.” In response, they stated, “Today’s actions by Republicans on Congressional committees are merely the latest in a series of political maneuvers from a party that enacts legislation detrimental to Medicaid, favors billionaires over middle-class citizens, and contributes to negative outcomes for our nation.”

They further emphasized their commitment: “ActBlue’s dedicated team sees this for what it really is—a campaign intended to disrupt the democratic process. We remain steadfast in our mission to support Democratic candidates at every level, backed by grassroots donors.”
