Rep. Jasmine Crockett of D-Texas said on Saturday that it was “not a crime” despite illegally entering the country despite violating federal law.
On MSNBC's “The Katie Phang Show,” Texas Democrats discussed their recent performance at a House Committee hearing on Sanctuary Urban Policy last week. She spent her time explaining to the audience that entering a country that illegally entered was not a “crime,” but a “civil charge,” and that illegal immigration is not a criminal.
“[Republicans] I am very angry at these immigrants and the crimes they are causing. Needless to say, the city's law enforcement agencies, local law enforcement agencies, they're constantly chasing crime,” Crockett said. Now, let me go. “right? Therefore, they are always focused on crime. ”

She said, “They kept saying things like 'illicitors' and they broke the incoming laws. But what they're not telling Americans is that it's a civil offence. It is not a criminal offence to enter the country illegally. It's not a crime. It's not a crime. It's not a crime. Sexual abusers and robbers want them to close out people with civil accusations. ”

“So I wanted to point it out. When we put up ten toes for the biggest criminals we've ever been to the White House, don't give me this false rage about criminals roaming our streets,” Crockett said.

Crockett appeared on the scene as one of the toughest democratic critics of the Trump administration until last week's interview with MSNBC, calling him the US “enemy.”
