After Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), chairwoman of the House Democratic Campaigns Committee (DCCC), pushed last week to steer vulnerable Democrats away from Vice President Kamala Harris, House Republicans went on the offensive Monday, announcing their latest effort to expand their majority.
DelBene reportedly refused to mention Harris by name on Thursday when CNN’s chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju asked him if “it’s a good idea for weak Democrats to align with Kamala Harris,” according to a video shared by X. Inside politics She also fended off the allegations, arguing that elections are driven by local issues.

“All our elections are local elections. It’s about our candidates and the caliber of candidates,” she said.
“You don’t think this will be nationalised?” Raju continued.
“I think in congressional elections, it’s going to be about each district, who the candidates are and how they stand up for their community,” DelBene responded.
Raju also met Thursday with Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), chairman of the Republican National Campaign Committee (NRCC).
When Raju asked whether Republicans would try to tie their opponents to Harris, Hudson said Republicans would “link House Democrats to the policies they voted for.”
Meanwhile, the NRCC and House Republicans are on the offensive. On Monday, the NRCC Announced As Republicans seek to expand their majority, the party has added 26 candidates to its “Young Guns” program.
