House Democrat plans to propose a resolution for the release of Epstein documents: 'Take action or step aside'

Veasey Seeks Release of Epstein Case Files

Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Texas) announced on Sunday his intention to introduce a resolution demanding the release of documents related to financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on social platform X, he remarked, “Either @Realdonaldtrump and his allies will back his campaign with rumors surrounding the importance of these Epstein files, or there’s something significant to uncover!”

“That’s why we’re pushing for this resolution on Monday, urging the Trump administration to make all files about the Epstein case available,” he added. “It’s time to either reveal the truth or stop the chatter!”

Recently, the Justice Department issued a statement asserting that Epstein did not have a “client list” purportedly used to blackmail influential figures and suggested that his death, initially ruled a suicide, might involve foul play.

President Trump has endorsed the DOJ’s findings, despite criticism that he has failed to fulfill promises made to his supporters. He pledged to release the Epstein files if he wins the 2024 election.

Additionally, Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, who stated that Epstein’s files were on her desk earlier this year but later implied their nonexistence through a recent memo.

“What’s happening with my ‘boy’ and, sometimes, my ‘gal’? They’re all after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is on our side,” Trump commented.

Veasey is not alone; several Democrats are attempting to leverage the ongoing tensions within Trump’s base. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) has urged House Republicans to support a request for the administration to disclose the Epstein files.

“Why are the Epstein files still undisclosed? Who exactly is being protected by wealth and power?” Khanna asked in a weekend post on X.

He further stated, “On Tuesday, I’ll be introducing an amendment requiring a vote to ensure the complete Epstein file is made public. We need to hold a vote and ensure all members of the council are accountable.”
