House Democrats' campaign arm on Thursday filed a lawsuit against the Federal Election Commission (FEC), alleging that the agency's failure to act allowed Republican candidates to take advantage of campaign finance loopholes in TV ads. I woke you up.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) filed an initial motion in the D.C. District Court seeking declaratory judgment and injunctive relief. Axios reported. The DCCC alleges that Republicans are circumventing fundraising caps by disguising attack ads paid for by the Community Fundraising Committee as fundraisers.
The lawsuit comes after Senate Democrats previously accused Republicans of using this tactic and appealed to the FEC to rule on whether such a strategy is permissible. The committee voted 3-3 along party lines last week to allow Republicans to continue advertising.

“Federal law is clear that there are limits on spending by party committees that coordinate with candidates. Republican candidates are cash-strapped and brazenly exploit loopholes of their own making to advertise their candidates. “We are spending party committee funds on “significantly exceeding applicable limits'' at the lowest unit rates,'' DCCC General Counsel Rachel L. Jacobs told FOX News Digital in a statement. .

“Their actions may cause DCCC and Democratic House candidates to engage in conduct they believe is illegal at the risk of penalties from the FEC or the Department of Justice, or to put them at a competitive disadvantage against Republican candidates.” You have to make a choice.'' Tens of millions of dollars. ”
The DCCC is now asking a federal court to determine whether this action is illegal ahead of the November 5th election.

In a statement to Axios, National Republican Senatorial Committee General Counsel Ryan Dollar called the lawsuit a “desperate stunt” and said the TV ads were “unanimously approved in 2007 and reaffirmed last week.” said.
