House Freedom Caucus chair endorses Trump after DeSantis drops 2024 bid

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good (R-Va.) spoke out about former President Trump's 2024 presidential campaign just minutes after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Va.) ended his presidential bid. officially supported.

“I am honored to fully and completely support Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. President Trump is the greatest president of my lifetime, and we want him to serve America very well.” We need to reinstate the policies we had in place,” Goode wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Goode's endorsement comes shortly after DeSantis announced he was withdrawing from the presidential race. Good initially supported DeSantis, a decision that initially angered some prominent figures at the conference.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was expelled from the Freedom Caucus, recently lambasted Goode as a “dishonest MAGA traitor” and said, “President Trump will win in 2024 and he We need loyal legislators.” America First warriors are not power-touring congressmen stabbing him in the back. ”

In his endorsement, Goode said he would do whatever he could to elect Trump and encouraged others to do the same.

“I'm going to do everything in my power to get him reelected as president,” Good said.

“I call on every Republican, independent, and Democrat who loves America and is concerned about her current direction to join me in supporting Donald J. Trump.”

With DeSantis' withdrawal, the race for the Republican nomination becomes essentially a two-person race between former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and Trump.
