House Republicans raised $12.6 million in May, while House Democrats raised $11.9 million.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the elections arm of the House Republican Conference, announced Thursday that it raised a “record-breaking $12.6 million” in May.
In an emailed press release, the NRCC touted its “committee record” for May of an election year, saying it surpassed the $11.9 million set in May by its rival, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
The incident was first reported by Punchbowl News on Thursday.
“Increasing a majority is a team effort, and we broke this fundraising record with the help of ordinary Americans and our incredible leadership team,” NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) said before taking aim at the left.
