“Young men are already Required Previously, anyone between the ages of 18 and 25 was required to register for the draft, but under the new resolution, registration will become automatic. News only report.

It is also a felony for an eligible person to fail to register for the draft if there has been no draft for 50 years.

The resolution also included the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which authorizes the defense budget for the next fiscal year and outlines the administration’s top defense and national security policy priorities.

The House approved the NDAA by a vote of 217 to 199.

“By using available federal databases, [Selective Service] “This agency will be able to register all necessary individuals and help ensure that future military conscription is fair and equitable,” Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, a Pennsylvania Democrat, said during a debate on the issue last month. Defense News “This will allow us to reallocate resources — essentially funding — to reading preparation and mobilization rather than education and advertising campaigns to encourage registration,” according to the report.

But the NDAA is unlikely to pass the Democratic-led Senate because of its diversity initiatives, LGBTQ-related concerns and provisions on abortion.

It also includes significant pay increases for military personnel, with junior soldiers receiving a 19 percent raise and other military personnel receiving a 4.5 percent raise.
