While Brad (Sam C. Wilson) and Cheese (Mark Stobbart) invade the Red Keep and murder the lovely Jaehaerys, Aemond is nowhere to be found, which is probably because he is ” House of the Dragon Season 1 Episode 9 “Green Council”!
In case you’ve forgotten, when Ser Christon Cole and Aemond were searching for Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) ahead of his coronation, they stopped off in King’s Landing’s Silk Street brothel. The Madame mocked Aegon’s penchant for frequenting Flea Bottom and courted him by saying, “You’ve grown up,” suggesting that she met Aegon when he was still a young man (or maybe a teenager?) and was impressed by how much the one-eyed prince had grown.

Fans of George R.R. Martin’s books know that Amond is romantically involved with only one character: older Women. Given that information and the fact that he’s snuggling up with an older madam, what exactly does Aymond want in a woman? Is he attracted to older women?
“The funny thing is, someone asked me today if I thought Amond had mommy issues, and I said, ‘I don’t think so, but he just wanted his mother to love him a little more, you know?’” Ewan Mitchell said when Decider posed the question in a recent roundtable interview. “He never really felt unconditional love from his mother. AnyoneReally.”
“So he had to find a surrogate somewhere else, you know? Maybe he found it in Vaegor, the old female dragon. And maybe he found it in Madame, too.”
“In a way, he’s just a broken boy. He needs to be fixed. Someone will help him,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell admits that he likes toying with audience expectations of Aymond: “Letting the audience project their own theories and their own stories on things,” he says. Deven McClure of ScreenRant.

“Amond is thinking. Maybe he’s looking at someone and thinking about how he’s going to take them out on a date, or he’s looking at someone and thinking about how he’s going to feed them to Veigar,” Mitchell says. “He’s not a mindless psychopath or sociopath. There are gears working behind his eyes, and I think that’s what makes the movie so fascinating.”
“It’s about figuring out where his loyalties lie, where his allegiances lie. I find that fascinating. I really do.”
House of the Dragon Fans will also notice that Aemond tells Madame, “I truly regret what happened with Luke. I lost my temper that day. I’m sorry,” thus cracking a theory that many fans had about the death of Lusaris (Elliot Griaule). House of the Dragon Showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed that Vaegor killed Luke and that Aemond lost control of his dragon.
Would it matter to Aymond whether Vager was in charge? “Yeah, it probably matters,” Mitchell said when asked by Decider.
“The word ‘weakness’ is not in Aymond’s vocabulary. He needs to be feared. He needs to be seen as very strong. He wants to be seen as a war hero,” Mitchell explained. “He and Cole know that war is inevitable. It’s looming before them, and Aymond is eager to be a part of it. He wants to etch his name in the history books, so to speak.”
“He has to do that with Vaeger, but he certainly doesn’t have enough control over Vaeger.”
Mitchell then said, “Yes, it was an accident. It was not Aymond’s fault.”
“Aymond is innocent,” Decider joked.
“Aymond is innocent, Your Honor,” Mitchell repeated.
