House Speaker Shares Personal Story at Pro-Life Rally

During a pro-life rally in Washington on Friday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) expressed his strong opposition to abortion, recounting a personal anecdote about his own near-abortion experience as a teenager.

“My life story really tops it all off,” Johnson said while addressing the crowd at the 53rd March for Life event. “I had an unplanned pregnancy back in January 1972, just a year before Roe v. Wade, and many people tried to persuade my young parents to make different choices.” He described his gratitude towards his parents for “giving her a chance in life.”

This emotional revelation earned him loud applause from the audience. “I think about all those children who haven’t had the same opportunities as I did. Each child deserves a shot at fulfilling their potential,” Johnson remarked. He emphasized the importance of protecting the right to be born, asserting it as “one of the essential freedoms that are under threat today.”

In a video message at the rally, former President Trump called for ongoing efforts in the pro-life movement. “This is a battle we must engage in—not just in politics, but also in people’s hearts,” he stated, advocating for religious freedom and a return to faith in America.

Additionally, Vice President J.D. Vance made an appearance at the rally shortly after announcing that he and his wife, Usha, are expecting their fourth child. “I want to see more families, more babies,” he said, emphasizing that he practices what he preaches regarding family growth.
