Houston Open: How to watch, streaming, preview, tee times, and more

The PGA Tour heads to Texas with Scottie Scheffler and Windham Clark headlining this week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Since 2020, the tournament has been held at Memorial Park Golf Course, a municipal course redeveloped by Tom Doak in 2019. Brooks Koepka also served as an advisor during the renovation.

This course is reportedly sponsored by 60,000 players Therefore, it will be compared to Torrey Pines and Bethpage Black, two major championship-caliber courses that have affordable daily rates for locals.

Houston residents can play at Memorial Park on weekdays for just $30, but those outside the city will have to pay upwards of $120. Not a bad price considering the best players in the world play there every year.

New this year, this tournament is on the calendar. He won in the fall of 2022 when defending champion Tony Finau won at Memorial Park. This year, however, the WGC and Dell Technology Match Play were removed from the PGA Tour schedule, creating a gap that was filled by the Texas Children’s Open. The seat becomes vacant two weeks before the Masters.

Interestingly, prior to 2019, when the event was moved to the fall, the Houston Open was held the week before the best players headed to Augusta National. The winner of this event typically receives the final invitation to the Masters.

Now it’s back in the spring, and the winner will receive an invitation to Augusta, even if they haven’t already been exempted.

moreover, ESPN+ will broadcast the PGA Tour Live main feed of the Texas Children’s Houston Championship on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:15 a.m. ET. Saturday and Sunday PGA Tour Live begins at 11 a.m. ET.

ESPN+ will also air Morning Wave and Air Marquee Group, as well as provide coverage of featured holes.
