Amanda Batula Embraces Change After Separation

Amanda Batula is making a shift in her lifestyle—she’s going vegan.

Fans of the reality show “Summer House” often picture her lounging in bed, and she, along with friends Ciara Miller and Paige DeSorbo, even earned the nickname “Bedbugs.” It’s worth noting that DeSorbo launched her own sleepwear brand following her departure from the Bravo series.

Following her recent split from husband and co-star Kyle Cook, Batula has moved into a new apartment where she’s infusing vibrant energy into her space—think gummy clusters and snack mixes. She’s partnering with a furniture brand to illustrate her transformation from “bed bug” to “couch potato.”

“I mean, I really love sofas and beds. Being horizontal is my thing, so I figured, why not collaborate with a brand that focuses on sofas?” Batula shared exclusively, dressed in a piece from DeSorbo’s collection during the shoot.

She humorously reflects on the situation: “I’m sure Kyle has voiced his frustrations about my couch time, so it makes sense to find a couch I can truly enjoy indefinitely.”

Batula revealed that her former home was dominated by a “millennial beige” aesthetic. “Everything was very white and orderly,” she explained, admitting that her two dogs turned the old white sofa into a mess.

“Now, I’m leaning toward neutrals with some splashes of color,” she mentioned, noting her interest in decorating her place with art and furniture.

One notable addition is a Jonathan Adler pillow designed like a Prozac pill, which symbolizes her journey with depression—an experience she openly discussed on Bravo, referring to it as an “incredible gift.”

“That’s the kind of vibe I want—fun, light, and full of color,” she said. “I just want my surroundings to evoke happiness, comfort, and warmth.”

The couple announced their separation last month after four years together, but Batula seems optimistic about moving forward.

She described the upcoming “Summer House” spinoff, “In the City,” as a reflection of growth and the complexities of adult relationships. “This is really about what it means to mature and navigate life at different stages.”

As for her current state, Batula noted that both she and Kyle are doing well. “We’re focused on healing and personal growth,” she said, expressing gratitude for Miller’s constant support.

“I’m genuinely happy with the progress I’m making. Each day feels like a step forward,” she concluded.
