How can you ignore it? Biden says he spoke with dead German chancellor about Jan. 6 riots

President Joe Biden has claimed for the second and third time in the past week that he has spoken to a dead world leader.

Biden addressed audiences at two separate fundraising events on Wednesday, meeting German Chancellor Helmut Kohl at the 2021 G7 summit in the United Kingdom, his first overseas trip as president, and the Bundestag on January 6, 2021. He said he spoke about the riots.

However, that was not possible due to Cole’s death in 2017. Kohl served as Chancellor of Germany from 1982 to 1998.

“I showed up…and sat down and said, ‘America is back,’ and [French President Emmanuel] Macron looked at me and said, “For how long?” how long? ‘ — This is not a joke,” Biden said. According to the pool report.

“Helmut Kohl said, ‘Joe, if you pick up the phone and tomorrow you pick up a newspaper and you read on the front page of the London Times that 1,000 people stormed Parliament and broke down the doors to the House of Commons. “What would you think if you found out that he was a member of the House of Commons and tried to block the election of the Prime Minister by killing two bovies in the process?” he added.

However, the German Chancellor at the time of the meeting was Angela Merkel.

This alarming gaffe came three days after Biden said the same thing about his conversation at the 2021 G7 summit. Aside from that recollection, Biden said he spoke with former French President Francois Mitterrand, who died in 1996.

Additionally, Biden appeared to forget the name of Hamas on Tuesday, forcing reporters to help him jog his memory.

These incidents highlighted voters’ concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities.Ann NBC News poll released this weekFor example, it found that more than three-quarters of voters are concerned about whether Biden has the mental and physical strength necessary to carry out the duties of the presidency.

Asked about the Mitterrand incident, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre angrily refused to explain why Biden made the gaffe.

“I’m not even going to go down that rabbit hole,” she said.
