Last month, I wrote this post to show you the power of credit card points and how you can turn your purchased MacBook Pro into a free iPhone. To my surprise, most people enjoyed the post and got great value out of it. The original post was primarily focused on the Chase Ultimate Rewards ecosystem. This time, I want to show you an example of how you can turn your Capital One Miles into the latest M2 iPad Air or M2 Mac Mini.
Before we begin, I want to explain a few things. Disclaimer: I do not recommend getting into credit card debt. The only true way to get value from your points is to pay off your credit card in full every month without fail. Otherwise, all of this is worthless. Treat your credit card like a debit card and pay it off in full and on time. Secondly, I think you will maximize the value of your points if you redeem them for travel. Some people who don’t travel much are looking for other ways to get the most out of their points. That’s what this article is for. Finally, this is not financial advice. Now let me show you how to get the most out of Capital One Miles with your Apple products.
How do I redeem Capital One Miles for Apple products?
Capital One’s rewards program uses miles as its currency, which you can think of exactly the same as points. There are two main cards I recommend from Capital One for earning opportunities. Capital One Venture X We will focus on venture rewards Capital One Venture Rewards CardThere are two great things about this card.
- You’ll earn 2x miles per dollar in every category (this will be important later)
- Sign-up bonuses (how to get free Apple products!)
of Venture Rewards Current welcome offers include earning 75,000 miles after you spend $4,000 in the first three months after opening your account, so if you have a big purchase coming up, like a down payment on a wedding, new furniture, or a new MacBook, you can apply for a card like this and put that spending toward your new card to earn the welcome bonus right away — and again, pay it off in full.
How to Use Capital One Miles to Buy Apple Products
The best way to get the most “cash” value is with Capital One’s Shop on Amazon Function. The steps are as follows:
- Log in to your Capital One online account. View Benefits From the homepage
- Select from there Shop on Amazon Choose from the following options:

- Link your accounts
- You’ll then be taken to a page where you can link your Capital One account with your Amazon account.

As you can see on the screen, all you have to do is link your accounts and select Capital One Miles at checkout (if you want to use Capital One Miles to pay for your items). It’s great that you can use your miles as many times as you want. This way, At 125 miles, the cash value is just $1.
So to buy a $400 Apple product you would need 50,000 miles ($400 x 125 miles).
How do I convert Capital One Miles to an M2 iPad Air?
Now that we’re prepared, let’s dive into how I used miles to buy a new iPad Air. Capital One Venture Rewards Card I was able to use this card to purchase a large sofa. Instead of using cash or a debit card and getting nothing, I bought a new sofa with my Venture card. I paid off the card immediately so no interest was charged. This helped me reach the $4,000 minimum spend in less than three months.
Another perk of having the card is that you get 2x points for every dollar you spend.
75,000 miles (sign-up bonus) + 8,000 miles (4,000 x 2, earned on the couch) = 83,000 miles
83,000 miles divided by 125 (miles to cash conversion rate) = $664
So, just by signing up for the card and using it like normal, I earned $664. I then spent $599 to buy a new M2 iPad Air.

Here I want to mention that Capital One Venture Rewards There is a $95 annual fee for the card, so keep that in mind, but even if you subtract the $95 from the $664, you’ll still be able to buy a new M2 Mac mini or other things from the Amazon Apple store.
Final thoughts
Again, if you can responsibly pay off your credit card in full each month, this is essentially a great way to get positive value out of your spending. You could use a debit card or cash instead, but you won’t get any extra rewards. I personally prefer to use miles or points to redeem for travel, but I wanted to show you how you can use your hard-earned points to get some great Apple products.
Let me know what you think about this. Are you a miles or points gamer? Is this a new concept for you? Would you use your points for Apple products like this? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
