The phrase “HOW DO YOU MISS” trended online on Twitter in the US after former President Donald Trump survived what appeared to be an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
As Trump was speaking at the rally, a single gunshot was heard, followed by several more. Trump crouched down and put his hand over his right ear, but Secret Service agents surrounded him and several more shots rang out amid screams from the crowd.
Secret Service agents rose alongside Trump, who raised his fist as they evacuated him to a waiting vehicle, and the gunman was apparently neutralized as cries of “shooter down” could be heard during live coverage of the incident.
Online, anti-Trump trolls have lamented the fact that whoever shot Trump appears to have missed. Here are some examples:
Why do you miss that BADDD?

None of the accounts repeating the phrase have been identified, although many appear to use pro-Palestinian or extremist symbols or language in their avatars. Elon Musk, owner of X, posted, “I fully support President Trump and wish him a speedy recovery.”
