MILWAUKEE — If there was a benefit to the Mets' two postponed games in Atlanta, it was giving Francisco Lindor some extra rest.
After missing eight consecutive games due to lower back discomfort, the Mets shortstop finally returned to action on Friday, going 2-for-4 with a walk in his team's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.
“I felt good enough,” Lindor said. “The pain comes and goes, so I'm satisfied.”
Lindor made a throwing error that led to an unearned run.
He said leaning forward was his biggest challenge.
“Anything that has to do with bending over, that's what bothers me the most,” he said. “But at first I jumped in. [base] It didn't hurt, so I left it alone. ”
Based on Friday's results, Lindor said he is confident he will be able to play in the Mets' remaining regular season games.
“My body was responding the way I wanted it to,” Lindor said. “No one plays this time of year without pain, so that’s part of the game.”
Luis Angel Acuña, who performed at a high level in Lindor's absence, was placed on the bench.

Coach Carlos Mendoza noted that Acuña can play center field, but Harrison Bader brings a good glove as a second-half replacement. Acuña will remain as a backup infielder.
Coach Mendoza announced after the game that Jose Quintana will be the Mets' starting pitcher on Saturday.
Mets officials are working on the rotation “day by day.”
David Peterson, Luis Severino and Tyler Megill will play in Sunday's series finale.
“I think it's really a combination of what the matchup is, where the race is going and how different players are recovering from their previous starts,” Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said. Ta. “We'll have to get together after each game and make a decision.”
Coach Stearns clarified the roster rules regarding a potential doubleheader on Monday.
First, the 27th man rule does not apply to doubleheaders since the roster has already been expanded to 28 players on September 1st.
In other words, teams will no longer be able to add to their existing rosters.
Additionally, even if the regular season ends on Monday, if a team opts a player to the minor leagues, that player will be ineligible to return for 10 to 15 days (depending on pitcher or position player). .
According to Stearns, Kodai Senga continues to pitch.
The next step for the right-hander, who left his minor league rehab start last Saturday with a triceps strain, is to take batting practice, but there is no timetable for that yet.
JD Martinez was hitless in three at-bats and 0-for-35.
