‘How in the World Did We Lose to a Billionaire?’

Lost Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz said he thought it would be a “real change” to be chosen by perhaps the least wealthy person in history, saying, “How on earth did he lose to a billionaire? “Is that so?” he said, wondering.

Minnesota's governor marveled that Americans once again chose President-elect Donald Trump to lead the country on Thursday. interview and Minnesota Public Radio.

Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, said: “When the Wall Street Journal pointed out that I might be the least wealthy person ever to run for vice president, it really made me reconsider.'' I thought that was the case,” he said.

“How on earth did I lose to billionaires and venture capitalists when I was suing rural lawyers and high school teachers?'' he asked later.

Walz went on to explain how he believes he relates to middle-class voters, saying: He had to pay his bills and is still paying them. ”

Walz said the disconnect between the Harris campaign and middle-class voters “keeps me up at night.”

“I've spent my entire career focused on focusing on the middle class…and it seemed like there were a lot of good ideas coming out of the Democratic Party,” he said during an interview.

“I still believe that, but it appears that the majority of Americans did not do so in this election,” the governor continued. “They chose to vote for a billionaire who has been talked about for not paying overtime, someone with a long history of not paying his employees, and someone who is trying to strip away the ACA.” [Affordable Care Act]”

Walz concluded that Democrats are not doing a “good enough job” in attracting these voters.

“So, I go back to the conclusion, we didn't do a good enough job as Democrats and as voters to show them that we understand where they're coming from. ''I didn't do any good work,'' he recalled.
