UFC is coming to the Sphere for the first time.
On Saturday, September 14th, bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley will go head-to-head against number one contender Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, an event being billed as “the greatest live combat sports show anyone has ever seen.”
Tensions are already running high heading into the crucial match on Mexican Independence Day.
In a video posted on the UFC’s official website, Instagram Records show the fighters argued about O’Malley’s coach, Tim Welch. Mixed Martial Arts.
Dvalishvili claimed he “wanted to punch (Welch) in the face” in a “street fight” rather than in the ring.
But wait! That’s not all!
Flyweight champion Alexa Grasso is scheduled to face former titleholder Valentina Shevchenko in one of nine (!) undercard bouts scheduled for a sold-out night at the Sphere on Saturday.
And for those wanting to witness the mayhem live, tickets are available from today.
However, it does cost money.
At press time, the lowest price we could find was $1,873, excluding Vivid Seats fees.
