The 2024 Giants' first win came at the hands of a first-year Giant.
With back-to-back season-opening losses and angry fans turning their gaze toward general manager Joe Sean and head coach Brian Daboll, it wasn't a surprise when the players the system trusted during an offseason that changed the team's identity saved the team's fate with a 21-15 win over the Browns on Sunday.
The Giants could have used their sixth draft pick to replace quarterback Daniel Jones and also tried trading up for Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, but ultimately opted to select receiver Malik Neighbors rather than fake out a quarterback like Michael Pennis Jr., Bo Nix or J.J. McCarthy.
There was Neighbors, who scored twice against the Browns instead of Rome Odunze, another dynamic receiver who could have been an easy target instead of Neighbors if the Giants had been intimidated by scouting reports that Neighbors might not handle adversity well.
