How school indoctrination is sabotaging the US economy

The U.S. economy is heading in the wrong direction. Over-regulation by government is driving private businesses out of business. Inflation is hitting Americans from every angle. It’s no wonder confidence in the economy is at an all-time low.

The price of food
Increased Gasoline prices have risen 25% in the past four years. 49.6% In 2021, it fell to less than 2%. State of WashingtonGas prices are up nearly 6% compared to a year ago and have risen more than 10% in the past month alone.

While learning loss is often discussed, the economic impact of school closures should not be overlooked.

Inflation isn’t just hurting consumers on food and gas. Homeowners insurance
2023 premiums The national average increase was 11.3 percent. Twenty-five states saw annual increases of at least 10 percent. In FloridaIn hurricane-ravaged California, insurance premiums have risen by more than 40 percent in five years, forcing many people to sell their homes and forcing others to take greater risks by not buying insurance because of the high premiums.

The implications are profound for ordinary Americans. Steve Forbes
explain“The people who hurt the most are the ones who have the least.”

“The government’s massive spending during the pandemic, paid for by governments printing money to stimulate spending and pumping money into the economy, has lit the fuse for rising prices,” argues Patrice Onwuka, director of the Center for Economic Opportunity at the Independent Women’s Forum.

The Biden Administration’s policies are largely responsible for the dramatic economic downturn, but who put Joe Biden and his congressional allies in office? The American people voted for a man who supports big government with higher taxes, bloated regulations, and attacks on corporations. Too many Americans have fallen prey to the “fairness” talking points and false promises, when in reality Bidennomics has left them far worse off economically.

Consider that Americans finish their K-12 schooling around age 18, at which point they become eligible to vote. Public education has maintained a near monopoly for decades, giving most Americans no choice in their primary and secondary education beyond attending the public school in their assigned school district. In fact, the U.S. public K-12 education system is the largest government-controlled monopoly in the world, excluding China’s state-owned monopoly, with annual expenditures approaching $1 trillion.

Approximately 52 million Teachers unions, which serve the education of America’s public school children, receive hundreds of millions of dollars in dues every year. They use a significant portion of that money to exert political influence by funneling funds to Democratic political campaigns. For example, the second largest teachers union in the United States: Number of members: 1.72 millionhas allocated more than 99% of its campaign funds to the Democratic Party during the 2022 election cycle.

As a result, not surprisingly, the public education system funnels vast amounts of funding to almost a single political party, while teachers unions accumulate enormous political power, including the protection of their public school monopoly, and ensure a steady stream of dues-paying members to supplement their union coffers.

Teachers unions have used their power to push unrelated political demands, such as a moratorium on charter schools, cuts to police budgets, and “Medicare for All.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers unions shut down public schools in some parts of the country for nearly three years. In contrast, the vast majority of private schools put the best interests of their students first and returned to in-person classes by fall 2020.

School closures have been devastating for children and young people, causing short-term damage and long-term negative consequences. While learning loss is often discussed, the economic impact of school closures should not be overlooked.

according to
McKinsey & Company surveyStudents who experience extended school closures “could potentially lose $49,000 to $61,000 in earnings over their lifetime due to the pandemic’s effects on their schooling,” and overall, “the impact to the U.S. economy could reach $128 billion to $188 billion annually as this generation enters the workforce.”

Shutting down schools for political purposes is not the only way teachers unions have misused their considerable power. Teachers unions also use their power to influence teacher training and school curricula, creating a single-party electorate that equates to a monopoly on the American mind.

Ideas affect individuals and societies alike. Ask any public school student today about capitalism and free market enterprise and you will find that they defend Marxism and socialism and denounce the economic systems on which the country was built. As Voddie T. Baucham Jr. wisely put it:
I got it.“We cannot continue to send our children to Caesar for an education and then be surprised when they return as Romans.”

That’s why it’s so important to give parents freedom in their children’s education. While we’ve made incredible progress in the past few years — 12 states have enacted universal or near-universal school choice laws — the fight is far from over. Our nation’s future depends on it.

Corey DeAngelis
Assert“Thirteen years of government brainwashing have taken a huge toll on society,” and for a growing number of Americans, that toll is having a disastrous impact on the daily economics of grocery stores, gas stations and more.
