The golf legend was in a relationship on Sunday after rumors spread at Benjamin School in Palm Beach, a private facility where Vanessa's daughter Kai, 17, and Woods' son Charlie, 16, 17, are registered.
“He knew when it came out it would be a huge story, and he didn't love it exactly,” the insider said. “But obviously, Tiger is always going to make headlines when he dates Trump, and that's exactly what he wants to avoid.”

Benjamin School is a private institution with a tuition fee of $38,595 for grades 9-12.
Earlier this month, Woods supported Sam, captain of the Varsity Girls soccer team, as the Buccaneers defeated Jacksonville's Anglican Church 1-0 to win the Florida 2A FHSAA state championship.
“Benjamin is like a small community and there's nothing the rich people want to do more than gossip about each other. Frankly, I'm amazed that it's been a secret for so long,” the source told the Daily Mail.

Woods, 49, and Vanessa, 47, reportedly avoided going out publicly together and discussing their relationship with friends to keep things private.
“They quietly did their own thing,” the source added. “But Tiger is not the kind of person who kisses or handhelds in public anyway.”
On Sunday, Woods announced their relationship on social media, including photos of the couple, asking the public for privacy.
“Love is in the air, life is for you by my side! We look forward to traveling life together. At this point, we appreciate your privacy to all those close to our hearts,” posted on his social channel.
Vanessa also reposted the message on her Instagram story.

Woods and Vanessa were the subject of romance talk for a while before he confirmed it.
Vanessa and her daughter Kai, who committed to the University of Miami golf team last summer, supported Woods at a variety of events, including the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California on February 16th.
The post confirmed that Woods and Vanessa were slowing things down after they blossomed into “something more.”
Vanessa married Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 to 2018 and has five children together.
The previous affair scandal with Woods' ex-wife, Swedish model Erin Nordegren, divorced in 2010 after six years of marriage.
The 15-time major champion has recovered from surgery on his left Achilles, which burst earlier this month.
