For years, iPhone users have relied on Voice Isolation to block out background sounds during calls. This is a useful feature in noisy environments or busy households. But with the iOS 18 update, things have changed a bit.
A question from Debbie from Half Moon Bay sums up the experience of many users: “Since updating the Apple software to iOS 18.0.1, I can no longer remove background noise during calls. was in the control center.” Did you know how to do it? ”
Debbie was a fan of the Voice Isolation feature, which allowed her to chat on the phone while hearing her dog barking in the background, and the caller couldn't hear the noise.
Good news, Debbie. With iOS 18, Apple introduced a smart new feature called Auto Microphone Mode. It automatically improves call quality by adapting to the surrounding environment. Voice Isolation is still available, but now part of a more intelligent hands-free experience.
