Have the Jets ever participated in a “Hard Knock”?

The Jets last appeared in “Hard Knocks” in 2010, which was one of the reasons they were selected for the team this year.

The Jets, along with the Bears, Commanders, and Saints, were subject to a “hard knock” for lacking a first-year head coach, not making the playoffs the last two seasons, and being out of the spotlight. Appeared on the show in the last 10 seasons.

Featured by Gang Green in 2010, “Hard Knocks” went 11-5 while playing under then-head coach Rex Ryan, when Mark Sanchez was quarterback. Advancement to the AFC Championship Game paid off.

The Steelers ultimately beat the Jets 24-19 in the AFC title game, the last time the Jets smelled the postseason.

Seven of the 18 teams featured in “Hard Knocks” qualified for the playoffs that season.

The Jets, who are in the NFL’s longest postseason drought, will kick off the 2023 season with the Bills at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 11 for “Monday Night Football.”
