How to watch Premier League soccer in US: Schedule and streaming

With the Copa America, Euro 2024 and the 2024 Olympics over, you might think the summer of sport is over. Wrong! If you discovered the beautiful game (known here as soccer, not football) this summer, now might be the time to tune in to the pinnacle of English football: the Premier League.

The Premier League season kicks off on 16 August with Manchester United facing Fulham, with a completely reworked table to include three new teams promoted from the Champions League: Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton.

In addition to the 380-match season running until May 2025, several top Premier League teams will also operate elsewhere throughout the season, competing in football tournaments across Europe (UEFA Champions League and Europa League) and in the English football system (FA Cup).

Manchester City enter this season as four-time defending champions – will they continue their historic winning streak this season or will a new team take the top spot for the first time since 2019-20?

How to watch live Premier League soccer in the US:

In the US, NBC Sports holds all broadcast rights to Premier League matches, with games being shown on either Peacock or NBCUniversal networks.

If a game is broadcast on USA Network or CNBC, it will be available to stream the following day for Peacock subscribers only. If a game is broadcast on Peacock, it won’t be available anywhere else, but NBC’s flagship network may broadcast the game, which will also be available to watch live on Peacock.

Because match days tend to be extremely busy, with up to 10 matches on at once, Peacock will likely introduce the same multi-view streams that were a big hit for the 2024 Olympics, allowing viewers to tune in to multiple events at once.

How to watch Premier League football on Peacock:

Peacock currently offers two premium tiers, both of which give you access to Premier League broadcasts.

The cheaper option is the ad-supported plan, which costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Those who don’t want to see commercials should consider the ad-free plan, which costs $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year.

How to watch Premier League football without cable:

If you don’t have cable TV, the only way to watch the USA/CNBC exclusive games, including the season opener, is Live TV Streaming Services.

One of our favorites is DIRECTV Stream, which includes USA Network, NBC, and CNBC in its basic “Entertainment” plan. Normally it costs $79.99 a month, but for a limited time it’s currently available to new subscribers for just $49.99 a month for three months.

Can I watch Premier League games for free?

Peacock doesn’t offer a free trial, but you can use DIRECTV Stream’s free trial to watch some games for free over a five-day period.
