NFL Set to Play in Berlin
The NFL is taking its game to Berlin, Germany, with an exciting matchup scheduled between the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
This game will be aired exclusively on NFL Network, featuring Adam Amin as the play-by-play commentator, with Kurt Warner providing analysis, and Stacey Dales along with Christina Pink reporting from the sidelines.
This encounter marks the sixth international game this NFL season and is especially notable since it’s the first time the league plays in Berlin.
The NFL has already had games in São Paulo, Dublin, and London this season. The final international game will take place next week, pitting the Washington Commanders against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid.
The Falcons are facing a challenging period, coming into this game on a three-game losing streak that began after their Week 5 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Recent losses against the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots have left the Falcons struggling. In a particularly tough game against the Patriots, the Falcons thought they had clinched a last-minute win, only to see kicker Parker Romo miss the extra point and ultimately lose 24-23. Romo has since been placed on waivers.
Michael Penix Jr. will lead the Falcons, hoping to reverse their fortunes against the Colts, who currently lead the AFC South. Penix has thrown for 1,630 yards, connecting on 60.8% of his passes with eight touchdowns and three interceptions over seven games. Running back Bijan Robinson is also having a noteworthy season, with 595 rushing yards and two touchdowns thus far.
The Colts have emerged as one of the season’s surprises, driven by a reinvigorated Daniel Jones. After struggling with the New York Giants for several years, Jones has truly elevated his performance this season, leading the league in passing yards with 2,404. He’s completed 69.6% of his passes, resulting in 14 touchdowns against six interceptions.
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is also making waves, leading the NFL in several categories: rushing yards (895), rushing touchdowns (12), and averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Although the Colts faced a setback in their last game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, losing 27-20, they had previously enjoyed a four-game winning streak.
