Leaders around the world expressed their respect and sadness after the sleazy terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people were killed and several others were injured when terrorists fired fire on them in the tourist town of Pahargam.
Multiple gunshots were heard in Baisalan Valley as a group of terrorists emerged from the forest and fired indiscriminately at the people gathered there. Most of them were tourists. They then disappeared into the forest.
Some reports suggest that Pakistan-based terrorist attire, The Resistance Front, is a banned derivative of Lashkar-e-Taiba and claims responsibility for terrorist attacks.
This tragic moment has led to a response from global leaders who have expanded solidarity and support for India.
US – Calling the incident “deeply intrusive,” President Donald Trump said, “We are intrusive with deep intrusive news from Kashmir. The US will become stronger with India against terrorism. The recovery of the injured people and the incredible people in India have full support and deep sympathy for our hearts!
Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin also condemned the terrorist attacks, saying, “There is no justification for this cruel crime. It is expected that organizers and perpetrators will face deserved punishment.” A statement from his office added, “We would like to reiterate our commitment to further enhance further cooperation with our Indian partners in combating terrorism in all forms and symptoms.
US – The US Vice President of JD Vance, currently in India, is with his family on an official cum-person visit, but has also expressed shock over the attack. “Usha and I express our sadness to the victims of the devastating terrorist attacks in Pahargam, India. Over the past few days we have been overcome by the beauty of this country and its people.
Saudi Arabia – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time of the terrorist attack, shortened his official visit and returned to New Delhi on Wednesday morning. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammadbin Salman also expressed his distress over the terrorist attacks in Kashmir, saying that Saudi Arabia stands in India and will expand the support needed during this period of grief.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah immediately set out for Kashmir to meet with the intelligence reporting agency to get updates on the terrorist attacks. The investigation is also carried out by security agencies. Written in X, Prime Minister Modi said, “I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jammu and Kashmir. I express my sadness to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured will recover the earliest.
He added, “The people behind this heinous act will be brought to trial… they will not be able to escape! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable, and it will become even stronger.”
Italy – “Sad” over the tragic news, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also expressed her sadness. “We are deeply saddened by the terrorist attacks that took place in India today, resulting in many casualties. Italy expresses its pathetic dol to the affected families, the injured, the government and all Indians.”
Israel – Israel was one of the first countries to condemn terrorist attacks in Kashmir. “We are deeply saddened by the violent terrorist attacks on tourists in Pahargam, Jammu and Kashmir. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Israel is united with India in the fight against terrorism.”
United Arab Emirates – The United Arab Emirates also strongly condemned the attacks of terrorists that the United Arab Emirates targeted tourists in Pahargam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths and injuries of innocent people. The attack on Tuesday was the worst terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years.
