Howard Stern won’t attend a Knicks game unless he gets front row seats.

Howard Stern and His Front Row Knicks Requirement

Howard Stern recently expressed his thoughts on attending New York Knicks games. At 71, he’s not your typical sports enthusiast, yet he has a loyalty to the Knicks, especially as they lead their playoff series against the Boston Celtics. However, there’s a catch—Stern insists he won’t attend unless he has a front-row seat.

It seems that for him, the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden holds little appeal unless he’s sitting right at the front. If his seat is anywhere else, he’s just not interested. “You can tell your location in show business where they place you in the Knicks game. The day they put me in the second row, I’ll quit,” Stern remarked. He seems to believe that where he sits at the game is somehow tied to his status.

He’s keen on the upcoming playoff games but has his conditions. “If they told me, ‘You’re not in the first line,’ I would turn around and leave. That would be embarrassing to me,” he added. It’s clear that for him, it’s not just about the game, but how he’s perceived while attending it.

Stern admitted, “I’m very interested, but I’m not going. I’m very self-aware. I’m waiting for them to invite me.” It sounds like he doesn’t want to intrude, feeling aware that many are likely to flood in for the playoffs, especially considering the Knicks’ history.

But he does have his reservations. He’s hopeful but has doubts about the Knicks triumphing over the Celtics. “I still feel the Knicks are going to play it. I’ll get an Agita with that team,” he said, hinting at the anxiety that comes with being a fan.

The Celtics won their last game decisively, 127-105, despite missing star player Jason Tatum due to an injury. As the series heads back to Madison Square Garden for a pivotal Game 6, the Knicks have the opportunity to clinch a spot in the conference finals for the first time since 2000. It’s a significant moment for the team and its fans, including Stern—if they can ensure his preferred seating, of course.
