A 14-year-old high school basketball player from Momence, Illinois, suddenly died after collapsing during a game Thursday night.

Momence Superintendent Shannon Anderson said in a statement Friday that everyone is saddened by the ninth-grader’s death, adding, “Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic death.” “I will.”

Anderson also said the school community’s main focus after the loss was to support each other and help community members cope with the tragic loss of such a vibrant student. .
