Hulu Officially Scraps ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ TV Series

Hulu officially discarded planned television adaptation Thorn and Rose Courta hit romance series by Sarah J. Mars.

The project, developed by Disney's 20th TV, has been working on Hulu since March 2021.

Maas collaborated with scripts Outlander Creator Ronald D. Moore still lacked the latest updates on adaptation. Progress was further halted in 2023 as strikes of writers and actors from across the industry appeared, with most scripted productions being held back.

February 2024, TVLine The series has reported that it is no longer moving forward on Hulu and will not be pitched to other networks. At the time, sources told Variety. The show is still technically under contract, but it was no longer an active development. Disney's 20th TV will retain the rights until the end of summer 2025.

According to Varietyinsider says Mars is going to take it. Akota Once your Disney options expire, head to a new studio. Neither the 20th TV nor Hulu provided comments, and Maas representatives have not yet responded to the outlet's request.

The first book of Thorn and Rose Court The series, published in May 2015, follows the 19-year-old Huntress Faire Acharon. After killing a fairy wolf in the woods, she is taken to Pretian's magical realm by Tamlin, one of the seven high roads. As Faia spends time with his property at Spring Court, she begins to uncover shocking truths about the fairy world she thought she knew.

Following the success of his debut novel, Maas has released four sequels. Court of mist and rage, The Wings and the Court of Doom, Court of Frost and Starlightand Silver Flame Court. The sixth time is currently under construction, but no release date has been announced.
