PHILADELPHIA — Sometimes it's really dark before dawn. It was for the Rams.
It was Saquon Barkley who turned out the lights, and it was the Rams who were able to turn them back on. That's why the Rams are still alive and can get another chance Sunday afternoon in an NFC divisional playoff game against Berkeley and the Eagles. Lincoln Financial Field.
What happened in Week 12 of this season was pretty shocking. Barkley ran for a career-high and Eagles franchise record 255 yards at SoFi Stadium. Almost two months later, the Rams look back on that game. We had 37 wins and 20 losses. The loss, and how Barkley defeated them in a defining moment as they rose from a slump to turn their season around.
“When you have humbling experiences with the right people, I think that's where the 'game plan' for real growth lies,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “I think as a team, we had a lot of players who could look inward and say, 'Is this really what we're aiming for?'” Where can you adjust and adapt from a coaching standpoint? Coaches and players? Where is the sense of urgency and what kind of effort do we need to put in throughout the week to be able to perform the way we want? What do we need to do? How do we want to act, interact, and move forward accordingly?”
