In the Los Angeles coastal suburb of Rancho Palos Verdes, a slow-moving landslide left hundreds of homes without power and several houses deemed unsafe for habitation.

An additional 105 homes lost power Monday night as mudslides accelerated in the Rancho Palos Verdes area.
The latest power outage was Monday 7pm, Seaview Area A seaside community in Los Angeles County overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 140 homes in the Portuguese Bend areaEvacuation warnings remain in place for these residents.

Ranchos Palos Verdes land movement The landslide expanded across 680 acres after the spring rains of 2023. The accelerating landslide caused roads to collapse and damaged homes and utilities.
On Tuesday afternoon, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) Declared Community emergency.
Last year, 10 local homes collapsed into a ravine, with some residents evacuating with only 20 minutes' notice.
