Hunter Biden Addresses Political Extremism

In a recent interview, Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, stated he doesn’t support any form of political violence. However, he suggested that Democrats ought to “turn up the temperature” concerning discussions on extremism.

During a conversation with Joshua Rubin on the Wide Awake Podcast, Hunter noted that both political sides should ideally reduce extremism. Despite this, he asserted that such a tempering wouldn’t occur. “I’m going to get in trouble for myself when I say this. No, we need to raise the temperature. We need to raise the temperature and we need the public to understand what that is,” he remarked, indicating a sense of urgency in addressing underlying issues before they worsen.

Hunter clarified that raising the temperature doesn’t imply direct violence, explaining that it means speaking truthfully to those in power. He emphasized the need for more voices within the Democratic Party that discuss current issues candidly, rather than speculating on judicial outcomes.

He specifically critiqued CNN anchor Jake Tapper for his communication with former President Trump, stating that heated exchanges over text messages fail to meet journalistic standards. “What are you talking about? That’s not journalism; that’s a complete abdication of responsibility,” Hunter insisted.

Moreover, he pointed out a recent incident where Tapper conducted a text interview with Trump, labeling it “breaking news” without actual verification of the conversation. At that moment, Lawrence O’Donnell from MS NOW also called out CNN for the manner in which they presented the interview.

While a CNN spokesperson defended Tapper, emphasizing that their journalists actively question authority, Hunter also brought attention to Abby Phillips and Scott Jennings, stating that there’s a pattern of repeating misleading narratives, which undermines the integrity of information shared with the public.

In conclusion, Hunter Biden raised concerns about the media landscape becoming increasingly influenced by powerful interests, reflecting a broader issue within journalistic practices.
