Hunter Biden’s Refusal to Apologize to Melania Trump
Melania Trump’s lawyer has requested that Hunter Biden retract comments he made during an interview with Channel 5’s Andrew Callahan, claiming they were “false” and “inflammatory.” In that interview, Biden allegedly suggested that Melania introduced convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to her husband, former President Donald Trump, citing questionable sources.
Attorney Alejandro Brito expressed concern over Biden’s remarks, describing them as “slanderous” and noting their widespread circulation across various media platforms. He pointed out that such statements have potentially reached millions of people, further damaging Melania Trump’s reputation.
When Biden was given a chance to apologize, he declined. He remarked on the situation’s gravity, stating that Melania is seeking $1 billion in damages unless the statements are retracted.
“But here we are. This could be a platform for you to backtrack on what you said regarding her possible link to Epstein,” he noted.
Biden’s response was direct: “That won’t happen.”
Continuing, Biden expressed skepticism about the lawsuit’s impact, suggesting it was merely a distraction. He emphasized the serious nature of the allegations against Epstein, believing that focusing on these legal threats was misguided.
Biden also described the Trumps as “bullies,” dismissing the idea that the hefty financial claim would intimidate him. “If they want to clarify the nature of Epstein’s ties to the presidency, I’m willing to provide a platform for that discussion,” he stated.
According to Breitbart, Brito has given Biden until August 7th to retract the statement and apologize. Sources suggest that Biden is unlikely to meet this deadline, indicating a lack of cooperation. The Daily Beast and political strategist James Carville have reportedly since issued retractions regarding the initial statements about Melania Trump.
In a letter, Brito warned that they might pursue legal action to recover damages for the harm caused to Melania’s reputation, stating, “Mrs. Trump will not make a choice.”
