A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the president’s son Hunter Biden will stand trial on federal firearms charges as early as June 3.

The younger Biden has pleaded not guilty to lying about drug use when filling out a form to buy a gun in October 2018, a violation of federal law.

Biden’s lawyers also argued that a disclaimer clause in the original agreement remained in effect, and defense attorney Abby Rowell pressed Judge Noreika to make a final ruling on the issue. .
Noreika said she hasn’t fully decided how to proceed with the four pending motions to dismiss, but wants to make sure she has time on her calendar for a trial.
Attorney Derek Hynes, who is representing special prosecutor David Weiss, expects it will take three to several days to present the Delaware gun case to a jury. Lowell said it would take two days to present his case to the jury.

Hunter Biden also pleaded not guilty to separate tax charges in Los Angeles alleging a four-year scheme to avoid paying $1.4 million in taxes while living a lavish lifestyle. The trial in this case is scheduled for late June to mid-July.
