Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, slammed President Trump’s former White House aide during a court appearance on Tuesday in support of her husband, who has been charged with three felony counts stemming from a 2018 firearms purchase.
Her comments were directed at Garrett Ziegler, who was sued by Hunter Biden last year for publishing the contents of his infamous laptop.
Approaching Ziegler at the trial, Biden’s wife pointed at him and said, “You have no right to be here, you Nazi scum.”
Ziegler, who runs the nonprofit Marco Polo, did not respond to Melissa Cohen Biden’s comments at the time.
Ziegler confirmed the encounter, which was first reported by NBC News, telling the station, “It’s sad that I’ve been sitting here this whole time and nobody’s approached me.”

“Just to be clear, I’m not a Nazi and I believe in the U.S. Constitution. I have nothing to say to them,” Ziegler added.

“A truly vile liar and scoundrel,” the group added. “We will not respond in the same way behind the scenes of the courtroom because we are gentlemen who do not reprimand women.”
Hunter Biden’s lawsuit against Ziegler filed in September alleged that he violated federal computer law by hacking into the infamous laptop that was left behind in a Delaware repair shop in 2019.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, accuses Ziegler, Marco Polo and 10 other unidentified associates of distributing “tens of thousands of emails, thousands of photographs and dozens of videos and audio recordings” that were deemed “pornographic” on a laptop.
Marco Polo describes itself as a nonprofit research organization that “exposes corruption and blackmail.” Its website has multiple sections on Biden’s laptop, including emails, text messages, calls and financial data, in a vast “online searchable database.”

“Defendant Ziegler has a right to express his extreme counterfactual opinions, but he does not have a right to engage in illegal conduct in order to advance a right-wing agenda,” wrote attorneys Abe Lowell, Brian Sullivan, Zachary Hansen and Paul Salvati.

Ziegler in March asked that a judge appointed by President Biden be removed from the case, arguing that the outcome of the case would have implications not only for the Congressional impeachment inquiry but also for the 2024 election.
Ziegler’s lawyer, Robert Tyler, in a recent motion filed in the U.S. District Court for Central California, asked Judge Hernan D. Vera to recuse himself from the case, saying his “impartiality is legitimately called into question.” Judge Vera donated to Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign and was appointed to the position by President Biden just three months before Hunter Biden sued Ziegler, and one day after then-Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) sued Biden on the matter. Tyler stressed that he was not denying Vera’s sincerity, but rather that he believed the court randomly assigned judges to Hunter Biden’s case.
“But what lawyers do is something called forum shopping,” he told Fox News Digital at the time. “In this case, California should have jurisdiction over this case because their client lives in Illinois and has no contact with California, yet Hunter Biden’s lawyers filed this lawsuit in the Central District of California shortly after Judge Bera was appointed.”
Hunter Biden’s lawsuit seeks a jury trial under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and California’s Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act.
Ziegler’s lawyers argued that former Trump aides and associates “produced a credible investigative report,” known as the “Biden Laptop Report,” not to wage a campaign against Hunter Biden. In preparing the report, Ziegler relied on copies of laptop files that had been “widely circulated by numerous media outlets since at least October 2020,” Tyler wrote.

The motion states that Ziegler’s website featuring the Biden laptop report has been accessed by more than 5 million Americans since its launch in June 2023, and that the free digital version of the report, released in November 2022, has been accessed by more than 8 million Americans.
