National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned in Wednesday morning's advisory. Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall late tonight, resulting in “widespread and destructive storm surge along portions of the west-central coast of the Florida peninsula, with maximum flooding of 10 feet or more.”

The NHC also announced that “precipitation amounts are expected to reach 6 to 12 inches across the central and northern Florida peninsula through Thursday, with localized rainfall totals up to 18 inches.” “This rainfall, along with moderate to major river flooding, poses a risk of catastrophic and life-threatening flash and urban flooding.”
