As the search continues for Ana Maria Knezevic, the Florida woman who disappeared under mysterious circumstances from her apartment in Spain this month, her husband insists he had nothing to do with her disappearance. .

The last time we heard from Ana was around 10pm on February 2nd, shortly after she was attacked in her apartment in Madrid’s Salamanca district by a man wearing a spray-painted surveillance camera on a motorcycle helmet. That was 30 minutes later.

“It’s terrible,” attorney Ken Padowitz, who represents Anna’s husband, David Knezevic, told Fox News Digital. “And we cannot imagine what this young woman’s family and friends are going through. The fact that she has been missing for this period of time is terrifying. , so we need to speak up about it.” We’re here to discuss it today. ”

According to reports, Ana’s brother Juan Henao told Fort Lauderdale police on February 7 that the couple was going through a “bad” divorce with “a lot of money at stake.”

David left Fort Lauderdale for his native Serbia several months before his wife disappeared while they were separated. Ever since her couple started talking about divorce, Ana had been spending a lot of time with her friends in Europe.

“He doesn’t have the answers as to why this happened and feels terrible, but if facts come out showing there was a ‘bad’ divorce when that’s not the case, then it’s a mistake.” “I want to make my voice heard,” Padowitz said.

“He stated that David traveled to Serbia on January 17 this year, but it is unclear how long he stayed,” the report states. “Additionally, he called and texted David asking where Ana was, to no avail. Juan advised that David responded via ‘Whats’ around 6pm last night.” [App]It was as if they were out of the country and all they were telling Juan was that Ana was missing. ”

No divorce records have been filed in Broward County, Florida, in either David’s or Anna’s name. Other county records show the couple jointly own multiple properties, one of which is currently in foreclosure.

“It wasn’t a terrible divorce.”

— Attorney Ken Padowitz

“We hadn’t even hired a lawyer yet,” Padowitz said. “I think right now he’s very focused on what happened and his wife is missing. He obviously wants her to be found and this tragedy… I’m looking forward to the day when this doesn’t happen again every day.” ”
