Hilaria Baldwin was ready to call her quit with Alec Baldwin if her eldest son, Ireland, did not approve of their relationship.
Sunday Episode TLC's “The Baldwins” Hiralia, 41, revealed the ties that Alec shares with Ireland, 29, that he shares with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
“I feel that is unique in the relationship between a stepmother and stepdaughter,” said the yoga guru. “First of all, I'm 11 years older than her. I don't raise her and find incredible humor in it.”
When Hilaria hit a romance with the “30 Rock” alum 66 alum, she said she's not willing to stick if Ireland is in trouble.
“Before I became her stepmother, when I met her, I told Alec, 'If she doesn't like me, I'm not staying,'” she said. “I [was] You won't be an evil stepmother. My place in life is not to come to my family and cause problems. ”
“[Ireland] Immediately welcomed me, we've never fought and it's very easy,” she said, adding that she “payed too much respect for the family” for her to come between them.
Before tying the knot with the hilaria, the “complicated” actor was married to Basinger.
The “The Marrying Man” co-stars said “I Do” in 1993 after meeting on the set of a 1991 film. However, a few years after welcoming Ireland in 1995, the duo's marriage began to fall apart.
After their divorce in 2002, they fought for Ireland's custody for a total of seven years, so their division became bitter.
The controversial “rust” actor had a roller coaster relationship with his eldest son.
Alec left her with the infamous voicemail in April 2007, and she was “Excuse me, a little thoughtless pig.” After she didn't get the phone for a court-ordered conversation in the midst of a custody fight.
But their father-daughter bond has since become stronger, especially now that Ireland is a mother.
Alec eventually found love with Hilaria. The pair got married in 2012.
The couple had seven children: Carmen Gabriella, 11, Rafael Thomas, 9, Leonardo Angel Charles, 8, Romeo Alejandro David, 6, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 4, Maria Lucia “Maril” Victoria, 4, and Catalyst Irena 2.
On Sunday's episode, Hiralia opened when she first met the actor.
“Obviously, the difference in our age is there. I'm always worried. Even when I had dinner with him, it felt like it was a big deal that someone was taking me with me,” she said. “I was on the land splitting the checks, and that was a big deal he paid. I didn't take it lightly.”
“Then he said to me, 'What do you think about dating someone 26 years older than you?' What I thanked him was that he was the first time he asked me to kiss him.
“She was very young, so they were very young,” Alec said of his wife.
“I met them and said, 'I got it. They're so handsome and very fitting,' he added.
