Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, the suspect in the Sept. 14, 2024, assassination attempt in Palm Beach, allegedly left a note for a friend that made clear his intention to kill former President Donald Trump.
Forbes Reported The handwritten letter also purportedly acknowledges that his attempt failed.
“This was an assassination attempt against Donald Trump that failed… I did my best and mustered all the courage I had,” the note read.
“We'll pay $150,000 to anyone who can complete the job,” Routh reportedly added.
The note was allegedly contained in a box that Routh gave to an unidentified person and was not opened until Routh's arrest after the assassination attempt.
The first charge against Routh since his arrest was gun-related: Breitbart News reported that Routh was carrying an SKS rifle around Trump's golf course, despite being a felon prohibited from possessing guns.
ABC11 Reported “Prosecutors have filed two charges against him: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.”
