I Don’t Believe Biden Lost Support with Black Voters — ‘It’s Faulty Polling’

Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., said Friday on CNN’s “The Situation Room” that he doesn’t think President Joe Biden has “lost the support of African-Americans.”

“With Trump still leading Biden in polls in several battleground states and fresh from raising billions of dollars on his felony conviction, how far will President Biden’s message about democracy go?” host Wolf Blitzer asked.

“I’m not that concerned about the polls that are going on right now,” Clyburn said. “I remember a few weeks ago there was a poll in Maryland where a candidate who was losing by five votes won by 13 votes. I think there’s something going on in the polls today that we’re not taking into account. If you’re polling landline subscribers, if there are too many landline subscribers, I’m not confident you’re getting an accurate poll.”

He added, “You keep hearing about Joe Biden losing support from African-Americans, but you’re not hearing me say, I want to go to the barbershop like I want to go to church, and you’re not hearing that in the polls on Sunday. So I don’t know what’s going on in the polls today, but I think Joe Biden is in a very good position.”

“I think the polls are flawed. I don’t see anything else,” Clyburn added.
