Vance Questions Biden’s Health
In a recent statement, Vice President JD Vance expressed serious concerns regarding former President Joe Biden’s health, suggesting he may not be fit to fulfill his duties. This remark comes on the heels of Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis, which was made public just a day prior.
“We really need to be honest about whether the former president can do the job,” Vance mentioned to reporters aboard Air Force 2, as he returned from Rome.
He went on to assert that, based on observations of both Biden and his staff, he doubts Biden’s capability to effectively serve the American people.
Vance, who is 40, emphasized that his critique wasn’t merely political. Rather, it stemmed from ongoing concerns about the transparency surrounding the health of Democratic leaders.
There have long been accusations towards Biden’s aides for downplaying the former president’s cognitive decline. Reports have implied adjustments, like using shorter stairs for boarding Air Force One and providing him with more supportive footwear to prevent falls.
Biden’s office disclosed on Sunday that the 82-year-old has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has potentially spread to his bones, although the statement indicated that the condition is manageable.
The timing of this announcement raised eyebrows among some medical professionals, questioning how such a significant health issue could have been missed, especially given Biden’s regular health assessments as president.
“In some ways, I don’t blame Biden as much as the people around him,” Vance remarked, posing the question of why the public wasn’t better informed about Biden’s health.
“This is serious. This is the guy who carries the nuclear football for the world’s largest nuclear arsenal—this is not child’s play,” he elaborated.
Former President Trump also commented on the situation, expressing sadness about Biden’s diagnosis. He conveyed warm wishes for a swift recovery for Biden and his family.
