The 14-year-old son of Yankees great Brett Gardner died of choking while on vacation in Costa Rica last week with his family.
Miller Gardner's lover Zoe Williams posted an edit of their time along with the Phoebe Bridgers song “Scott Street,” which he plays in the background.
Photos, videos and drafts of old Tiktoks spanned years. The duo had a clear affinity for matching clothes, including sushi-themed snuggies and “my girlfriend/boyfriend” t-shirts.
“I'm so crushed I don't imagine this going to happen. I wish I could say goodbye, tell you, or even hug you at the end. I love you more than anything, and I will never be able to overcome your losses.”
“Even though we are too young to continue doing that, I am very pleased to be able to experience love with you. We will not trade the time we had.
According to his parents, Miller died suddenly while he was asleep. Several other families reportedly also fell ill while staying at the same high-end Costa Rica resort.
“There are very few questions and answers at this point, but I know he passed away about his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21,” Gardner, 41, and his wife, Jessica, said in a statement released on Sunday for his young son.
Costa Rican officials are currently working with Gardner to repatriate their teenage bodies to the United States.
The US State Department confirmed that Miller's death is under investigation, and the spokesman told the post that he is closely monitoring local government efforts.
