Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said during an appearance on her show that she believes President-elect Donald Trump's pick for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, will pass the confirmation process. Breitbart News Dailyand praised all of President Trump's nominees as nontraditional.
“I think Pete's going to get through this. He's doing a great job. Pete's a great guy, so I texted him this weekend. I got off the plane in Nashville and before I got to the car, “There were three different groups of people yelling, 'Check out Pete Hegseth!'” Blackburn began.
“And I met with the academy officials, and they were like, 'Check out Pete Hegseth,'” she said, adding that she went to an event in her home county and people also said, I pointed out that they were saying the same thing. ! ”
“Even when we were having breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning, there were people saying, ‘Check out Pete Hegseth!’” I said to Pete, I said, What do you know? Tennesseans hired you. we have. We're happy to have you as a Tennessean. They are supporting you and will be cheering and praying for you and Jen and the children as you go through this process,” she added.
Blackburn added that he's excited that “candidate Trump” is not a traditional candidate, a product of the D.C. swamp.
“They're not people in the box. They're people from outside the box. That's what the overwhelming majority of Americans voted for. They want change. They want to see responsiveness. That's what Donald J. Trump is trying to give them, and they want it to be a process change, a business change. They want to get rid of the two tiers of justice. They want equal access. I want to make sure they're spending it wisely, so I support all the presidential candidates,” she said. “He earned that right because the American people gave him the mandate on November 5th.”
When asked which candidate he was most excited about, Blackburn mentioned President Trump's pick for attorney general, Pam Bondi.
“I have known Pam and worked with her for the past 10 years. She will be a great attorney general for the United States. She will fix the Department of Justice,” the senator predicted.
